Escape to the Hotel Roca Sundy, a wonderful hidden gem where time has stood still and comfort, tranquility and nature have come together in perfect harmony.
For decades the old plantation estate, once one of the largest cacao plantations on the islands, was in a state of disrepair with the jungle slowly taking over the buildings. However, recently, the buildings underwent complete restoration as part of a sustainable tourism project. The result is a beautifully restored hideaway, with just twelve rooms split between the Colonial House and Plantation House next door. The spacious rooms are exquisitely furnished with traditional colonial-style pieces salvaged from the original house. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the central square, and others look out over the rainforest.
It’s wonderful to sit on the veranda at Hotel Roca Sundy and enjoy delicious dinners prepared with organic produce from the the Roca’s own plantation garden. Of course, there will always be a dessert on the menu made with high-quality chocolate from the islands!

Location
The plantation hotel is close to a fishing village. The square outside the hotel is used as a meeting place by the villagers and is the perfect place to mix and mingle with the locals.
Activities
There is plenty to see and do when staying at Roca Sundy. We can organise hiking, bird and turtle watching trips. As well as 4x4 tours and Biosphere trails.
